Frequently Asked Questions
We are ready to help you!
Essential Wellness offers virtual Chinese herbal consultations, Facial Gua Sha classes, phototherapy patches, and ear seed consultations, for those interested in homebound healing.
With the current use of tele-health and video consults, we will schedule your medical history intake to be done prior to your first in-person service. Medical history intakes take approximately 30 minutes to complete. By doing a virtual intake, this will allow for less contact time in the treatment room.
When you arrive to the office you will wait for my phone call to be told you are able to come into the office. You will be offered hand sanitizer upon entering and go directly into the treatment room. You will have a customized treatment plan with acupuncture points selected accordingly, along with any additional modalities that may be needed. This part of your treatment will take about 60 minutes.
After your treatment the room will be disinfected and there will be no cross over of patients in the waiting room.
Essential Wellness follows universal precautions and always strives to keep the office germ-free and safe for staff and patients. If you are unable to visit the office, Essential Wellness offers consultations on the phone and can help you get the items necessary to administer therapy at home, guided or independently.
Make sure to eat a few hours before your appointment and be hydrated. Dress in loose, comfortable clothing. Please do not wear fragrances. Plan to avoid exercise for 1-2 hours after treatment. Be ready to bring your willingness to trust in the thousands-year-old healing powers of Chinese Medicine and relax!
As with any treatment plan, commitment to the process is the best way to ensure maximum benefit.
Acupuncture has a cumulative effect where each treatment builds upon the last one. The same ways daily dental hygiene can keep the mouth healthy, acupuncture can keep the circulatory system, nervous system, endocrine and immune system, cardiovascular, and digestive system functioning to support whole-body wellness.
Yes! Acupuncture is a delicate healing modality that, in common terms, reminds the body and mind how to effectively heal. In most instances, it works hand-in-hand with physical therapy to reduce pain and inflammation, increasing circulation, range of motion, and overall well-being.
Note: Always consult your surgeon, and follow his/her/their guidelines for pre- and post- surgery best practices.
Currently Essential Wellness does not accept insurance. We are happy to provide you with a super bill for your visit that you can self-submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.
